Summary of Benefits and Costs (SBC)
The Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) is produced by Cigna in accordance with federal guidelines and is designed to help you understand and evaluate y our health plan choices. The federal law requires that you have access to the SBC for your current benfit plan year and the SBC for t he plan year beginning January 2026. Since Dartmouth offers more than one Cigna medical plan option, you will be able to view SBC's for each option.

Summary of Material Modification (SMM)
A Summary of Material Modifications provides a summary of the most important changes to the Plan and information contained in the Summary Plan Description ("SPD") previously provided to you. It supplements and amends that SPD so you should retain a copy of this document with your copy of the SPD. If there is any discrepancy between the terms of the Plan, as modified, and this Summary of Material Modifications, the provisions of the Plan will control
Summary Annual Reports (SAR)
A Summary Annual Report (SAR) is a summary of the Form 5500 Annual Return/Report for all faculty and staff of Dartmouth College. The annual report has been filed with the Employee Benefits Security Administration, U.S. Department of Labor, as required under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA).
