Inspiring Pathways

Inspiring Pathways is a professional development program designed to support the growth of staff at all career stages. The program helps participants build essential skills, increase confidence, and expand their impact at Dartmouth.

The program is intentionally aligned with institutional priorities, supporting staff in developing the capabilities needed to advance operational excellence, foster inclusive and effective workplaces, and contribute meaningfully to the long-term success of the campus. Through flexible, self-paced learning, participants strengthen their professional practice, create a meaningful development portfolio, and prepare for growth and mobility across the Dartmouth community.

Inspiring Leaders

Inspiring Leaders is a self-paced certificate program for staff who manage people, projects, or programs, as well as individual contributors preparing for future leadership opportunities.

Participants earn a certificate by completing:

  • 10 Core Courses

  • 6 Elective Courses
    within a two-year period, with an approximate total time commitment of 33 hours.

Workshops are offered at least twice each year and are designed to support leadership practices that align with campus priorities, including cross-functional collaboration, inclusive supervision, change leadership, and effective decision-making. Participants are encouraged to apply learning directly to their current responsibilities, document progress through a professional portfolio, and strengthen readiness for expanded leadership roles. The program begins with the participant’s first completed session.

Inspiring Professionals

Inspiring Professionals is a self-paced certificate program for staff who want to deepen their professional skills and effectiveness in their current roles.

Participants earn a certificate by completing:

  • 10 Core Courses

  • 8 Elective Courses

    within a two-year period, with an approximate total time commitment of 29 hours.

Workshops are offered at least twice each year and focus on building practical, transferable skills that directly support institutional goals and campus-wide initiatives, such as service excellence, collaboration across departments, and continuous improvement. Participants are encouraged to use the program to enhance their professional toolkit, build a development portfolio, and increase their capacity to contribute to Dartmouth’s mission. The program begins with the participant’s first completed session.
