Whether it's an expectation, emotion, question or other message, openness and willingness to communicate can improve overall quality of family communication, which may also help alleviate stress within a family. Learning to Relax Workshop - 4/26 at 12:00 PM

Stress is experienced in the body as tension. This course will address how to change the way your body reacts to stress through exploring a variety of relaxation techniques to calm the body and mind. The class will allow participants to learn and experience several simple relaxation tools such as progressive muscle relaxation, abdominal relaxation breathing and visualization.

Welcome to the 35th Annual Prouty benefitting cancer research and patient services at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center. With the Prouty Ultimate, Cycling, Walking, Rowing, Golf, the Virtual option, and volunteering, there's truly a way for everyone to be a part of The Prouty™. Join team "Big Green Pazooie" with other staff, faculty, alumni, students and friends!

Sprouty

The Sprouty (September)- Sharon, VT:

The Sprouty supports the Farm-to-School program at the Sharon Elementary School. The 5K and 10K race along the White River celebrate good health, local agriculture and the beauty of September in Vermont.

March for Babies

 March for Babies (May)- Upper Valley, NH:

Sponsored by the March of Dimes, events throughout the year let you walk for the little ones. Check the site for ways to participate locally.

 Walk MS (May)- Vermont, White River Junction:

Every spring, the Greater New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society sponsors a walk to aid the 20,000 people in the region who suffer from MS.

Tails & Trails Walk-a-thon: (May) with the Upper Valley Humane Society:

Join us for a dog-friendly walk to raise funds and awareness for homeless animals in the Upper Valley!

Tuck Run for the Kids

 Tuck School of Business Run for the Kids (May):

Each May for the past 27 years, students run to raise money for David's House, the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth, and Upper Valley Child and Family Services, David's House, and the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth. There are awards for the top three 5k and 10k runners, and kids participate free.

 Covered Bridges Half-Marathon

Covered Bridges Half-Marathon (June)- Woodstock, VT:

Runners raise more than $30,000 each year for local nonprofits focused on sports for young people.

 Skip's Run

Skip Matthews Memorial Father's Day Run (June)- Lebanon, NH:

Choose from a 4-mile race or a 1-mile walk/fun-run (kids welcome!) All proceeds benefit the Brain Tumor Research Fund at Norris Cotton Cancer Center.

 Walk to End Alzheimer's

Walk to End Alzheimer's (September) - Rutland, VT:

Raising money for care and support of Alzheimer's patients and for continuing Alzheimer's research, the annual walk in Rutland, Vermont includes walkers of many ages and ability levels and is part of a national effort.

 Harpoon Road Race

 

Harpoon Octoberfest Road Race (October) - Windsor, VT:

This 3.6-mile road race benefits Norris Cotton Cancer Center. Work up an appetite for Harpoon Octoberfest beer, bratwurst, and some Oompah by kicking up your heels on this scenic course at the brewery.

 

CHaD Half Marathon 

CHaD Hero Half Marathon & Ripcord 5K (October) – Hanover, NH

 Choose from the half-marathon, 5K Ripcord run, 5K walk, one mile Cam's Course, or volunteer. All proceeds will go to support CHaD programs (Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock) that provide care to kids from across our region.
