Thanking the Interviewers

Be sure to do that at the end of the interview. But also, many applicants like to write a "thank you" note. While this is unlikely to influence any admissions decision, there is an element of courtesy and gratitude associated with this.

USPS or Email?

We hear that applicants are being told to send thank you's by email lately. We've heard a few admissions offices say the same thing. Do that. But don't hesitate to send a paper thank you directly to the people you interviewed with or who made an impression on you. Avoid saying, "You are my #1 choice" unless it's absolutely true, but know they're unlikely to give it much consideration.

Send thank-you notes directly to the Admissions Director of the school, by name.
