The Employee Assistance Program is designed to help you and your family members with personal or vocational problems that may be too large or complex for you to handle alone. Sometimes these problems can interfere with your ability to be successful at work. The FEAP provides free, confidential assessment, counseling and referral services in a professional setting. The FEAP offers up to eight (8) counseling sessions per year. However because we all can experience a wide array of difficulties, we will offer additional sessions for other problems that may arise. Family members (spouse, partner, children, etc.) all receive the same eight-visit benefit.
The Faculty/Employee Assistance Program (FEAP) Can help with:
• Stress, Anxiety, and Anger Management
• Coping with Financial and Legal Problems
• Depression
• Marriage and Family Problems
• Grief and Loss Issues
• Chronic Illness
• Relationship Issues
• Drug and Alcohol Abuse
• Parenting Concerns
• Work-Related Stress Including Performance Issues, Change & Transition, and Professional Relationships
Additionally, we offer consultation to supervisors, managers or other administrators regarding any aspect of workplace concern
No one will know if you use the FEAP program. Our program is strictly confidential. Everything you discuss with your counselor will be kept confidential unless you give written permission to share information. If you contact FEAP, your supervisor will not be told unless you want him or her informed. However, a supervisor may refer you to the FEAP program if your job performance is affected. If you decide you want help, everything you discuss will still be confidential. However, by law, we are required to disclose to emergency personnel when there has been a disclosure of child or elder abuse, and or threat of harm to oneself or others.
Absolutely not! Your job security or working conditions will not be jeopardized by a request for help through FEAP. We do not record FEAP visits in your personnel file, and they do not affect performance evaluations.
Since the college believes that an employee should not have to worry about the cost of getting help, FEAP is a free employee benefit offered to you and your family members. It will cost you nothing to use the FEAP program. If additional help is recommended, you may be referred to appropriate resources that meet your specific needs. If physical and or emotional health is assessed to be causing difficulty, your Anthem insurance may cover some of these costs. We will make every effort to refer you to a service based on your ability to pay.
If something is troubling you, we sincerely hope that you will give us the opportunity to discuss your concern. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please give us a call at 646-1165. You can also contact us through e-mail at Faculty/Employee Assistance Program@Dartmouth.EDU.
