Cards for Visiting Personnel

Visiting Faculty, Researchers, Scientists, and Interns

For authorized visitors who are not already in the employee database (HRMS) or the student database (Banner):

If a visiting person's affiliation with Dartmouth College is defined as sponsored (identified as "Affl: SPON" in the DND/OIM), they are not provided with an ID account.

If access is required for their purpose on campus, the supervising department for the new visiting person must create a work order through Facilities Operations and Management (FO&M) for the creation of an ID account. Door access can be prepared by the departments responsible at any point after the ID account has been created. Please note: visiting personnel ID cards are only for access.

After the work order has been completed and the visitor's ID card account has been created, the visitor can visit the Dartmouth Card Office to obtain their ID card.

All individuals seeking to obtain a new ID card must show proof of identity. A valid form of photo-ID, such as a passport or state-ID/Driver's License, must be presented. After the ID photo is taken and logged to the system, reprinted ID cards do not require this verification.

Summer Interns/Research Fellows

Programs for Summer Interns and Research Fellows are coordinated through Conferences and Events. For more information, please contact Kristen Post

Athletic Facilities Membership

Access for the Athletics Facilities is overseen by DCAD Administration, and is contingent on a membership. Alternately, single-day passes are available for purchase through DCAD. An ID card from the Dartmouth Card Office is not necessary for day passes. For more information regarding access to the gym, please contact the Athletics Facilities office.

Library Privilege

Access for the library facilities is managed separately from the ID production and access system. For more information regarding access to the library, please contact the appropriate library.

Door Access

The Dartmouth Card Office does not determine the validity of door access requests. We do not have authorization to add or alter door access privileges. Please contact the building manager of the area which you are seeking to access.
