Shelf Processing

Shelf processingPreservation Services staff are responsible for attaching call number labels, and ownership stamp to all newly acquired library materials.

Information for library staff:

  • Download a binding instruction slip (yellow form)
  • Obtaining a new call number label:
    If an item needs a new call number label printed, please send it to Preservation Services, noting on the conservation repair slip that a new call number label is needed. Preservation Services staff will create the label, attach it, and return the item.
  • Replacing missing pages:
    If an item needs missing pages replaced, please send it to Preservation Services, noting on the conservation repair slip the page numbers missing. Preservation Services staff will create duplicate pages, tip them into the book, and return the item.
