Ashifi Gogo, Thayer ’10

As founder and CEO of Sproxil, Ashifi Gogo created a technology that verifies the authenticity of pharmaceutical products using a cell phone.

MAKING A MARK

Gogo refined his idea for Sproxil's technology, Mobile Product Authentication (MPA), while finishing his electrical engineering degree at Thayer. The U.S. Department of Commerce recently recognized MPA's role in the global fight against counterfeit medication by awarding Sproxil with a 'Patents for Humanity' Award, given to those whose intellectual property address global challenges in health and standards of living.

IN HIS WORDS

"Thayer gave me the entrepreneurial training I needed. The program fosters a new pedigree of engineers who are capable of solving global problems through tangible solutions."
