By the middle of the decade, the internet had created limitless opportunities for engagement, research, and scholarship around the world. New technologies enhanced unprecedented collaboration and innovation, which would become mainstays of Dartmouth's educational mission. Just as the Corporation for National and Community Service was being established in Washington, Dartmouth was also looking towards community building, giving students more opportunities to participate in community service and social action needs.
