Enrico Riley ’95

Once a visual studies major, Riley returned to Dartmouth as faculty in 2001 and is currently an assistant professor of studio art.

MAKING A MARK

Riley has been featured in over 40 exhibitions around the country and has received several awards, including a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship, as well as the American Academy of Arts & Letters Purchase Prize for his painting, "Giant Steps." His work is in the collections of the Columbus Museum, Columbus, Georgia; the Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas, Texas; the Werner Kramarsky Drawing Collection, New York, New York; the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond, Virginia; and numerous private collections.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

"As you continue to work, your approach evolves. These changes that happen while working alone in the studio also come through in the classroom," Riley says of his role as artist and teacher. "You're creating work that you're asking students to create, so you can relate to them very specifically."
