Human Research Protection Program (HRPP)

The HRPP at Dartmouth includes oversight for biomedical and social behavioral research that could involve any of the following categories of human research. Ensuring the ethical conduct of research and protecting human subjects is a shared endeavor. Our multi-institutional program for protecting the rights and welfare of human research subjects is organized with the support of each interested stakeholders.
Together the components form a comprehensive human subject protection program to ensure adequate resources as well as appropriate scientific and ethical review of each research project are established prior to initiation and throughout the life of the study. The research environment is ever changing, in order to sustain the knowledge needed to preserve an effective HRPP, the institutions strongly encourages educational opportunities throughout all components of the HRPP.
The Senior Vice Provost for Dartmouth College serves as the Institutional Official for carrying out the College's human research protections program
