A member of the Skokomish Tribe of Washington State, Pavel was appointed staff director for the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs in early 2013.

LEADING THE WAY

After graduating from Dartmouth with a BA in sociology, Pavel attended the University of Washington School of Law, where she received her JD. She joined Sonosky, Chambers, Sachse, Endreson & Perry, a national Indian law firm in 1992, and was promoted to partner in 1999.
