  • Dartmouth College is committed to an environment where all Dartmouth community members are encouraged to report any suspected violations of law or Dartmouth policy without fear of retaliation.
  • Dartmouth has contracted with an independent third party (EthicsPoint) to serve as the point of intake for receving complaints and concerns. This service supplements existing offices on campus that help register such concerns, including such issues as academic and research misconduct, child abuse, financial misconduct, sexual assault or abuse, or confidentiality concerns.
  • We have prepared an FAQ document that provides additional information on this process.

Reporting Employee Injuries

All injuries, no matter how minor, should be documented using the WC Injury Report.  Completing this report protects the rights of the employee (to ensure prompt receipt of benefits) and Dartmouth (to avoid late reporting assessments).  Although the reporting of the injury is important, the first priority is to make sure the injured employee receives appropriate medical care.  The following process should be followed to report work-related injuries:
  • Employee should report the injury to their supervisor prior to the end of the shift in which they were injured;
  • Injured employee and supervisor complete their portions of the WC Injury Report;
  • Answer all questions as fully as possible, especially the ones dealing with medical treatment and time loss;
  • Within 24-hours the report is faxed to RICS (646-9199) and/or emailed to david.f.foster@dartmouth.edu;
  • Do not delay submitting the report due to missing information;
  • Late reports may result in Dartmouth being assessed a fine up to $2,500 by the State of New Hampshire;
  • Late reporting assessments will be charged to the reporting department;
  • Employees with minor injuries requiring first aid care should treat at Dick's House;
  • Employees suffering more than first aid type injuries should be brought to the occupational medicine clinics at either Alice Peck Day or Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.  In the case of an after-hours injury or serious injury, use of the emergency room will likely be required.
