About Renewals
You can view a list of the items that are checked out
to you and renew some or all items.
You will be able to renew any checked out items provided:
- The item has not reached the maximum number of renewals ("Too Many
Renewals"). Most items can be renewed as many as three times before they must be returned to the Library.
- There are no holds on the item
- Renewals are allowed on the item
- The item does not have a status of "lost," "billed,"
or "claims returned."
- Your library account is current and in good standing

Step 1: Log Into Your Account
- Click on the "Account Login" link at the top of any library catalog page.
- Enter your name as it appears on your Dartmouth ID, DHMC ID, or Library
Card.
- Enter your Dartmouth ID number (e.g., 12345X)
If you have a Library Card or a DHMC ID, enter the
barcode number with no spaces.
- Enter your four-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN).
If
this is the first time you are using the View Your Record feature, you
will need to create a PIN. Do this by leaving the PIN box blank. You'll
be given the opportunity to create a PIN when you click the "Submit" button.
If
you have forgotten your PIN, please contact any Circulation
Desk.
- Click on the "Submit" button.

Step 2: View and Renew Items Checked Out To You:
Click on the "Items currently checked out"
link to review the items checked out to you. Please note: This button will not appear on your
screen unless you have items checked out.
You
can renew some or all items using the available command buttons and check
boxes.

Step 3: Log Out
It is important to log out after you are finished looking
at your circulation record. Failure to do so could jeopardize the privacy
of your library account if you are using a public computer.
- To log out, click on the "Start Over" button
or close your browser window.
- Your session will automatically log off after 1 hour
of inactivity.
