Chemical Safety

The College's Chemical Safety Program encompasses the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200), the Laboratory Standard (29 CFR 1910.1450) and a variety of other OSHA and EPA requirements related to chemical safety and hazardous waste. The primary elements of our Chemical Safety Program include written policies and procedures, training, medical consultation, emergency response, periodic compliance inspections and a mandatory registration of highly hazardous chemicals.

The Dartmouth College Chemical Safety Committee provides oversight and review of the Chemical Safety Program.
