The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) provides advice and guidance to the Dartmouth Community on occupational and environmental health and safety issues. EHS manages the College's Hazardous Waste Management, Minimization and Disposal Program.
Dartmouth's Biological Safety Program encompasses health and safety with human blood and body fluids, bloodborne pathogens and recombinant DNA technology. This program was developed in compliance with OSHA and NIH/CDC guidelines for biological safety.
Dartmouth's Chemical Safety Program integrates both occupational and environmental health and safety requirements into a single, comprehensive program. The goal of our program is to ensure the safe use, storage and disposal of all chemicals on our campus. Waste minimization and pollution prevention are key components of our strategy.

Dartmouth's Occupational Safety and Health Program covers a broad range of topics and issues related to workplace health and safety. Compliance with OSHA's General Industry Standards is the core of this program.

Dartmouth's Radiation and Laser Safety Program provides for the safe use of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and lasers in our research and teaching programs. All Class IIIb and IV lasers must be registered with EHS.
