Education Requirements

All investigators and research personnel must complete an IRB education session prior to initiating a project. Final IRB approval will be contingent on completion of IRB Education Session.

To fulfill this requirement, an in-person session can be attended, or one of the online tutorials can be completed. All acceptable options are provided below.

Online Tutorials

A. CPHS Online PowerPoint Presentation

This online option involves listening to a pre-recorded Dartmouth/DHMC education session while watching a PowerPoint presentation. At the end of the session, please complete the Post-Test and mail to CPHS Tasks, CPHS, HB 6254 for grading. To successfully fulfill the IRB Education requirement you must score 80% on the Post-Test. This tutorial will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete.

To take the CPHS Training on line, follow these steps:

  1. Open and print handouts:
  2. Go to the CPHS presentation by clicking   HERE.
  3. Click on "View Presentation"
  4. Read the 7 handouts
  5. After watching the presentation, and reading the 7 handouts, take the post-test:  Post-Test
  6. Email the Post-Test to CPHS Tasks

B. CITI (Collaborative IRB Training Initiative)
