Dartmouth Fitness Membership at Alumni Gym Benefit

About the Benefit

The Dartmouth Fitness Membership at Alumni Gym wellness benefit provides a free annual membership, valued at up to $450, for Alumni Gym (indoor raquet and squash courts, indoor track and gymnasium, swimming pools), as well as the Zimmerman Fitness Center (cardio/strength equipment).

Please note:

• The membership dates for this wellness benefit are 1/1 - 12/31 (if you are hired after 7/1, the membership dates are 7/1 - 12/31 and the value of your membership is $225).
• The Dartmouth Fitness Membership wellness benefit is available to active benefits-eligible employees only. Other community members, including spouses, may pay out of pocket for a membership. 
• Gym lockers are not included in this benefit.  

Enrollment Process

Employees must elect this wellness benefit in FlexOnline either as a new hire, or during the annual Open Enrollment period.

New Election Process for 2024!

We are simplifying the election process for this benefit for 2024. If you currently have this wellness benefit and wish to continue for 2024, you MUST re-elect it in FlexOnline during Open Enrollment (October 23 - November 6, 2023) to complete your gym waiver within FlexOnline. This will allow you to access Alumni Gym much sooner, and will eliminate the extra step of claiming your membership within Athletic's ticketing system. 

Please note: If you elect this benefit during Open Enrollment and are a current Dartmouth Fitness member at Alumni Gym, and paid out of pocket for your current membership, you will receive a refund of $225 by February 1, 2024; the value of your Wellness Benefit for 2023 will be $450.

2023 Enrollment Process

You must elect the Dartmouth Fitness Membership at Alumni Gym as your Wellness Benefit in FlexOnline. Once you complete your election in FlexOnline, your ID card will be activated within 1 week to use at Alumni Gym. If you would like to use the gym before then, you can show the front desk attendant your confirmation statement and they will grant you access to the facilities. If you have any questions, email Athletics. 

Tax Information

• This value of this benefit is considered imputed taxable income and applicable taxes will be withheld from your paycheck (for those electing this benefit during Open Enrollment, taxes will be withheld in your January paycheck).
• There will be no tax refunds if you get a refund on your membership; please consult with a tax advisor.
