Director of Riding & Equestrian Head Coach Tenley Walsh

Dartmouth Director of Athletics and Recreation Harry Sheehy has announced the hiring of Tenley Struhs as the new head coach of the equestrian team and director of riding on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.
Struhs comes to Hanover to work with the Big Green at Morton Farm after serving as the head coach and riding instructor at her alma mater Otterbein University in Ohio for five years before moving on to serve as the assistant executive director at the Florida Agricultural Center & Horse Park Authority in Ocala for the last three.
A 2012 graduate from Otterbein with a degree in equine business and facility management before getting her MBA there as well in 2016, Struhs was hired to assume the reins of the program immediately after completing her undergraduate riding career.
Under her guidance, the program continued to grow and set new high standards in competition as well as raising the profile of the program by hosting several national and regional shows.
While coaching, Struhs led Otterbein to three regional championships and a pair of top-10 showings at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championship, finishing sixth and seventh, respectively, in those appearances.  The team's 2013 IHSA appearance was the first in school history.
A decorated competitor herself, she has two regional (2010 and 2012) and two zones (2009 and 2011) appearances to her credit as a member of the varsity hunt seat equestrian team.
