Images of Dartmouth College
Located in the tower of Baker Library, this camera provides a live view of the College Green, continuously updated. From this vantage point, you can also see the Hopkins Center and the Hanover Inn. A time lapse movie of this year's commencement ceremony is now available.
Note: You need to use a browser that supports the Motion-JPEG image standard. For Mac OS X users, you must be running the latest release of OS X (10.4.3) and Safari (2.0.2), or later, to view the camera. Earlier versions of Mac OS X and Safari don't support the Motion-JPEG standard. We recommend Firefox for those not running the lastest versions of OS X and Safari.
There is also a Flash-based interface for the camera. We invite you to give it a try. Camera installation and maintenance sponsored by the Class of 1966. If you have any suggestions or comments, please send them to

Thank you!
How Does It Work
The Baker Tower Camera has been recently upgraded to a self-contained Network Camera, made by Axis Communications. When you view this camera you are actually connecting directly to a special purpose web server that's part of the camera, itself.
Credits and Feedback
The Dartmouth Webcams are supported by the Web Operations group of Dartmouth's Technical Services department.
