Ivy champs: The Big Green men's soccer team earned the 16th seed and a first-round bye in the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship tournament. As Dartmouth Life goes to press, Jeff Cook's squad was waiting for the winner of the Colgate-Boston College first-round game, with the second round match scheduled for Nov. 25 at Burnham Field in Hanover. After sharing the Ivy League title with Penn, Dartmouth earned its 10th invitation to the tournament, with most recent postseason games in 2004, 2005, and 2007.

Take me out to the ballpark: Work progresses on the renovated Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park. As winter closed in, the artificial turf field was laid and bleachers installed. The finish work is expected to be completed over the winter, in plenty of time for the Big Green baseball team's home opener on April 1. Biondi Park is named for Cindy Ginn Biondi '80 and the late Mike Biondi '79, who were major donors to the project. The team will present its first redesigned jacket to President James Wright as a parting gift, Cindy Biondi recently announced.

Tune in: The Dartmouth Sports Network's winter sports broadcast schedule has a full slate of hockey and basketball on tap. More than 100 games-including the entire men's hockey schedule-will be carried on four Upper Valley radio stations. Click here to access all broadcasts.

Save the date: Dartmouth will hold its sixth "Wearers of the Green" celebration May 16, 2009, in Boston, honoring more than 130 Big Green athletes and coaches. Honorary Wearers, announced in November, include President James and Susan DeBevoise Wright, John Engelman '68, Doug Floren '63, and the late Kathy Slattery Phillips.
