To the Dartmouth community:
It is with great sadness that I write to inform you of the death of Blaine Steinberg, a member of the Class of 2015, who fell ill and passed away suddenly this evening at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
We have been in touch with Blaine's family and shared our deepest condolences with them at this very difficult time.
The College is offering counseling to members of the entire community in the basement lounge of Woodward Residence Hall. Counselors and staff will be at Woodward through 11 p.m. tonight to provide support.
Counseling will also be provided tomorrow in Dick's House from 12 noon to 2 p.m., and from 2 to 4 p.m., in Woodward Hall basement lounge.
We urge students, faculty, and staff who would like to speak to a counselor or dean on their own behalf or out of concern for someone else to go to Dick's House or contact Safety and Security at (603) 646-4000 at any hour. Please do not hesitate to seek help during this time of grief.
We will be in touch as we have more information to share.
Our thoughts are with Blaine's family, friends, and the entire Dartmouth community at this time of such tragic loss.
