Forced Commitments
Some colleges that do not subscribe to the Common Reply Date of May 1 may attempt to force a commitment from you prior to the time when you will receive notification of your admission from Dartmouth. If you find yourself in this situation, you may — through your guidance counselor — petition for an informal advance appraisal from the Dartmouth Admissions Office.
Secondary school guidance counselors must provide a copy of the offer that you've received including the name of the college, the date of the required response, and the amount of financial aid offered.
