Air Travel

Spacer Lebanon (N.H.) Municipal Airport, 10 miles from the Dartmouth campus, is served by several daily flights from New York (LaGuardia), Boston (Logan) and Philadelphia International airports. Consult your travel agent for connection information.

Spacer General aviation services are also available at the Lebanon airport through Signal Aviation.


Train Travel | Top

Spacer Amtrak's "Vermonter" service from Washington and New York arrives daily in nearby White River Junction, VT. Consult your nearest Amtrak agent for information.


Bus Travel | Top

Spacer Vermont Transit (802-295-3011) has several buses from various points arriving daily in White River Junction, VT., with connections to the Dartmouth campus. Vermont Transit also has direct routes from Boston Logan Airport and Manchester, New Hampshire Airport to Hanover, New Hampshire. Call for information. Dartmouth Coach (603-448-2800) offers daily departures from Boston Logan Airport to the Dartmouth campus. We recommend calling for more information. Local bus transportation is available from Advance Transit . Please visit their web site to obtain their current schedules. Passengers can ride free on certain local bus routes.

Driving Directions:

From the Boston Area:
Take I-93 north (portions - toll road) to I-89 north at Concord, NH
Get off I-89 at Exit 18 in Lebanon, NH onto Route 120.
Bear right off the exit, heading north on Rt.120 into Hanover.
4.1 miles from the exit, Rt. 120 forks at a traffic light.
Bear right at the fork, following Rt. 120 one-half mile on South Park Street to the first traffic light.
Turn left at the light, onto East Wheelock Street.
Follow East Wheelock for two-tenths of a mile, when you will come to the Hopkins Center (left) and the Dartmouth Green (right).

From the Manchester, NH airport:

Turn right at the end of Airport Rd. onto Perimeter Road West. Follow signs for I-293 to Brown Ave. heading North.

Brown Ave. crosses I-293. Get on heading East (towards I-93). (Actually, you can head either way. See the Manchester map. Heading East first is 2 miles longer, but has better roads. Heading West first takes you through Manchester on an old, shoulderless and medianless interstate.)

Follow signs to I-93 Northbound (portions - toll road). From this point you can follow the Boston directions.

From Burlington, VT Airport:

Turn left out of the airport parking lot.

Turn left at the light onto US Route 2 East. Follow the signs to I-89 South.

Follow I-89 South to White River Jct., VT, pick up 91 North and get off at exit 13 for Norwich and Hanover.

Turn right at the bottom of the exit ramp and cross the Connecticut River.

Go up a hill, and come to a stop light. You are now on Wheelock St. in Hanover.
