Rick Kimball is a founding general partner of Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV), one of the largest growth equity/venture capital funds in the world focused exclusively on information technology. Over the course of a twenty-two year history, TCV-backed companies have held 60 initial public offerings. Kimball has been recognized numerous times by Forbes on its Midas List as one of the industry's top technology investors.

He graduated Cum Laude from Dartmouth in 1978 with an AB in History and was a member of Sig Ep. In 1983 he received an MBA from the University of Chicago. Kimball currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Dartmouth where he chairs its Investment Committee and is a member of its Master Planning and Facilities, Finance, and Executive Committees. He and his wife, Kathy, are Co-Chairs of the current Capital Campaign.

He is son of John Kimball, Class of 1943, and the parent of a daughter of the Class of 2016 and A&S Class of 2018. He has a son at the University of Michigan, Class of 2021.
