As part of our Dinner with a Doc series, students enjoyed dinner with Dr. Steven Leach, director of the Dartmouth Cancer Center. Dr. Leach was joined by his former colleague Dr. Martin Garcia-Buñuel, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the VA Maryland Health Care System. Dr. Leach and Dr. Garci-Buñuel talked about their career journeys with students, sharing advice about avoiding physician burnout, battling self-doubt, and knowing yourself when choosing a specialty. Both doctors spoke about letting their love for people guide their patient care and decisions to pursue their respective leadership roles.
