WALTER A. BACKOFEN, is a former Professor of Metallurgy and Materials Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His essay in this issue completes a three-part study of school funding and taxation in New Hampshire.
LOIS A. KRIEGER recently retired as Humanities and Social Sciences Reference Bibliographer. She will, fortunately, remain as senior editor of this journal.
PATTI L. HOUGHTON is the Rare Books Specialist in Special Collections, where she assisted in packing, shipping, and cataloging the Edward Sine Collection.
