Jay Davis

Jay Davis is Program Officer for Outreach in Schools at the Tucker Foundation, with a primary responsibility as Executive Director for the Summer Enrichment at Dartmouth (SEAD) program, a multi-year program that expands the educational opportunities for promising high school students from under-resourced urban and rural schools. In addition, Jay supervises the great work done by Tucker students in America Reads, Boys and Girls Mentoring, Language in Motion and the Early College Awareness Program.

Jay also is on the Education Department faculty, whe

re he directs the Secondary Teacher Education program, certifying Dartmouth undergraduates for careers in public middle and high schools. He previously taught high school and middle school English for eleven years, and maintains a position in the Hanover public school district as School Leadership Coach, providing professional development training for teachers and consulting advice for administrators.

Jay holds a 1995 Masters in Arts and Teaching from

Brown University, and New Hampshire State certification as a secondary English teacher. He was a Phi Beta Kappa 1990 graduate of Dartmouth, where he majored in English and captained the Men’s Nordic Ski Team. He lives in Etna with his wife Julie (’91) and children Katie and Andrew.
