What has surprised you about college?
I was surprised to find how much it's truly become home to me! I come back every term and find a family all over again. Also as an LA native, I was blown away by the prevalence of snowflakes... I used to think they were extremely rare and the size of paper snowflakes you make in Pre-K. Oops.
What was most challenging about your experience with your Tucker program(s)?
My Tucker Fellowship in Nepal was the most challenging experience of my life. I was living in a rural village with basic accommodations and no other fluent English speakers.
What do you love about your Tucker program(s)?
They ground me at Dartmouth and serve as a daily dose of what is really important to me.
What would you say to a student who is thinking about becoming involved with Tucker?
Do it!! It doesn't matter if you don't consider yourself a service oriented person. Tucker is all about learning about yourself and others and becoming more compassionate, so there is a place for everyone here.
How has your Tucker Foundation experience affected you?
I think it's made me more thoughtful in just about every way. It's made me realize that small acts of kindness and love do more to change the world than you would think, and helped me see the world as a simultaneously small and massive, diverse, ever-changing place.
What is one fun fact about you?
I once broke my skull but didn't realize for 3 weeks. It seems I've made a full recovery...
