Denise has held various teaching positions including a teaching fellowship at Cornell, and an appointment as associate professor and the director of the School of Hotel Administration at Boston University. She is currently teaching a course at Harvard, based on her industry textbook, "Hospitality World!" Denise has also worked extensively in the hotel and restaurant field, including roles in marketing, consulting, and operations for public and private hotel companies. She has contributed to a number of schools in a volunteer capacity. She currently serves on the board of the Charles River School, The Fessenden School and the Mercersburg Academy, where she is chair of the board.
Denise was an economics major at Dartmouth, and earned an M.P.S. at Cornell's School of Hotel Administration. She has been an active volunteer for Dartmouth, serving on the President's Leadership Council, The Alumni Council, and the Board of Overseers at the Hanover Inn. She has also served her class as a reunion co-chair and president. She is the oldest of four sisters who attended Dartmouth, Rosi '82, Anni '83 and Mich '89. She and her husband Mark Nunnelly have four children.
