Honors Program

The Honors Program consists of a two-term course of study, achieved concurrently with Senior Seminar I and II. The minimum requirements for acceptance into the program are:

1. Complete at least two terms in drawing and three terms of study in architecture, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking or sculpture. All three terms of study in any one area must be completed prior to your entrance into the honors program.

2. A student must have achieved, by the end of junior year, a 3.0 College GPA and a 3.4 GPA in all Studio Art Major courses. See ORC for College policy regarding Studio Art Honors Program.

3. Two full-time core SART faculty members must agree to serve as your advisor in the program. It is your responsibility to find faculty members who will oversee your work, and you must set up a schedule and meet with them on a regular basis.

Honors is not a reward for work produced in past academic terms. It is rigorous and demanding, and requires a significant amount of time on top of your regular classes. It is equivalent to taking another course. You must also participate in critical dialogues about your work with faculty and students.
