Ordering Transcripts: Student Guide

 

Step by step instructions on how to order transcripts are listed below. If you have any questions about this process, please contact our office at registrar@dartmouth.edu or call (603) 646-2246.

Please note: The Chrome web browser is not compatible with certain Banner functions, so please use a different browser when accessing BannerStudent.

Step 1: Current students - Log in to BannerStudent and select "Official Transcript" from your menu. Alumnae and alumni - log in to the Transcript Request Page.

Step 2: This page informs you of what transcript types you may order. If you have transcript holds on your account, they will also display here and direct you to the proper office. Click the "Request a Transcript" button to move on to the ordering site.

Step 3: Your first order will require confirming account information. We have pre-filled most fields, so please check and confirm that the all information is correct. International students please note: The State/Province field is required. If that does not apply to you, simply enter N/A in that field. Click SUBMIT when you are finished.

Step 4: Click any of the links to proceed to the available transcript types.

Step 5: You may choose from available types of transcripts – official eTranscripts, official paper (mailed), or official paper (for pick-up). Please select your choice.

Step 6A: If you choose an official eTranscript, you will need to provide the following:

  • Whether or not to hold until grades are ready for the current term

  • Whether or not to hold until the degree has been posted

  • Recipient Name - Name of the person you are sending the transcript to

  • Recipient email address

Once you fill out the order information, click CONTINUE.

Step 6B: If you choose an official paper transcript to be mailed, you will need to provide the following:

  • Whether or not to hold until grades are ready for the current term
  • Whether or not to hold until the degree has been posted
  • Whether or not to have the envelope signed and sealed
  • The delivery method (USPS or UPS)
  • If requesting expedited delivery, please go to the UPS website and create a shipping label. You may also wish to review Expedited Shipping Instructions.
  • Recipient name
  • All relevant destination mailing address information
  • Number of copies

Once you fill out the order information, click CONTINUE.

Step 6C: If you choose an official paper transcripts to be picked up in the Registrar's Office, you will need to provide the following:

  • Whether or not to hold until grades are ready for the current term
  • Whether or not to hold until the degree has been posted
  • Whether or not to have the envelope signed and sealed
  • Number of copies

Once you fill out the order information, click CONTINUE.

Step 7: Review the contents of your shopping cart, and click CHECKOUT to process the order, or CONTINUE SHOPPING to request further transcripts. UPDATE SHOPPING CART will reflect any changes to the order you make on this page.

Step 8: We have recorded your consent to release academic information by signing on to BannerStudent. This page reminds you of that. Click NEXT.

Step 9: Review your order, then click CONFIRM if everything is correct, or BACK to make any changes.

Step 10: Your order has been submitted. You may log in through the BannerStudent launch page at any time to check on the status of your order. Statuses for eTranscripts will all be visible in the Order Status area; statuses for paper transcripts will be delivered via email. After your first login, you will no longer be asked for account information. Use the My Account and Order Status menu items on the top left of the screen to track order information or update account information.
