History

Alpha Phi was recognized on March 3, 2006, as the Dartmouth College colony of the international sorority. The colony officially became a chapter on April 28, 2007 and the Iota Kappa chapter of Alpha Phi first participated in formal recruitment in September 2007

Service and

Philanthropy

We strive to make a difference on campus and in our community through a number of charitable projects.  Locally, we have adopted the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth (ChaD) as our community cause, and Alpha Phi sisters have raised money to buy toys for the children at ChaD. Alpha Phi sisters participate annually in the American Cancer Societys Relay for Life and the summer Prouty Century Ride and Challenge Walk which benefits the Norris Cotton Cancer Center.  At a national level, Alpha Phi supports the Alpha Phi Foundation, a non-profit organization aimed at promoting women's cardiac care.  Every year, we host the Red Dress Gala, a benefit to raise funds for and educate the community about our cause and the foundation. In addition, Heart Health Week has become an annual event on campus during winter term to raise awareness of the importance of women's heart health.
