Diversity Peer Advisors (DPAers) are trained undergraduate students who work together to proactively address issues of diversity and create a campus community based on inclusion, equity, and respect. DPAers are available to provide campus programming, referrals to resources, and non-judgmental individual peer support to all Dartmouth students. Contact a Diversity Peer Advisor.
Ten international and U.S. upperclass Dartmouth students were selected to be International Student Mentors (ISMs) in a highly competitive selection process. Each mentor is assigned a group of approximately eight to twelve new international undergraduates. ISMs assist and befriend Dartmouth's newest international undergraduates through pre-arrival correspondence, meeting new international students at Logan International Airport and at the bus stop in Hanover in September, and by helping new internationals get settled when they first arrive on campus. ISMs continue to help new students get off to a good start at Dartmouth during Orientation. The formal work of advising new international undergraduates continues throughout the fall and winter terms as needed (and friendship continues well beyond that).
Mentors Against Violence (MAV) is a student-led organization aimed at educating its peers about all forms of violence, focusing on sexual violence. MAVs facilitate discussions of proactive approaches to preventing sexual assault among Greek and affinity houses, athletic teams, residence halls, and all student organizations. MAV also participates in programming that seeks to change the social norms at Dartmouth and help foster an environment free from sexual assault and violence. Contact a MAV.
Sexual Abuse Peer Advisors (SAPA)
Sexual Abuse Peer Advisors (SAPAs) are trained students who serve as a campus resource to those students who have been confronted with issues of sexual abuse. SAPAs provide support, referrals, and advocacy.
