Welcome 2015s!
I am the Advisor to LGBTQA Students and would like to offer myself as a resource to you. Our campus is home to a vibrant community, including many LGBTQA students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Our community represents a wide range of perspectives, backgrounds, activities, academic interests, religious beliefs, and professional plans. There are many resources available to the LGBTQA community, including the LGBTQA Resource Room in Robinson Hall, Queer Studies courses within the Women's and Gender Studies Program, the Gender Neutral Housing Program, student-led organizations (such as Gender Sexuality XYZ or "GSX"), annual celebrations, and lecture series, as well as an active LGBTQA alumni/ae association (DGALA).
I hope I will have the chance to meet you soon. Our LGBTQA Community Dinner, which is open to all Dartmouth students, staff, and faculty, will be on Wednesday, October 5, at 6:00 pm in Collis, Common Ground. We'll be celebrating LGBT History Month, National Coming Out Month here at Dartmouth, the repeal of DADT, and much more! Featured Speaker: Peter Jacobsen '00, lives and works in Burlington, VT, running Vermont Cares, the state's largest and longest-serving AIDS Service Organization, a career aspiration since he was in high school. He credits Dartmouth's inspiring queer leaders for cultivating the skill sets and passion needed to make a difference in the world. Jacobsen was a co-chair of the Rainbow Alliance and interned at the LGBT Student Advising Office, as well as the Center for Women and Gender.
I know that you, too, will become part of our dynamic student body, where you will find lots of opportunities to make new friends, build coalitions, and develop your leadership skills. If I can answer any questions, or be of help in other ways, please be in touch!

Sincerely,
Pam Misener
