Eleanor J. Gibson

Eleanor J. Gibson is the Susan Linn Sage Professor of Psychology Emeritus at Cornell University, the first woman at Cornell to occupy an endowed chair. She is a fellow of the national Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She was President of the Eastern Psychological Association and has received numerous honorary degrees. Eleanor Gibson has been a leader in research on human infancy. Professor Gibson's area of special expertise is in perceptual development, language development, and reading.
