Gerald Stern is a chancellor of the Academy of American Poets. He has written thirteen books of poetry. He has received the Lamont Prize, a Guggenheim, three NEAs, the National Book Award of Poetry, a fellowship from the Academy of Arts and Letters, the Ruth Lilly Prize, and the Wallace Stevens Award from the Academy of American Poets.
