As you know, the College uses various benefits administrators to manage our programs. One area that we feel is important to have more expertise and attention is that of disability management. We carefully reviewed proposals of several vendors and selected Matrix, our current administrator for long-term disability leave, to also handle short-term disability leave (which includes medical and pregnancy leaves), effective September 1, 2010. The staff in the Office of Human Resources will work closely with Matrix and assist with timekeeping issues, but will no longer be involved in intake and medical case management. To be sure that you are prepared for an expected or unexpected short-term disability leave, please review the information on this page regarding when and how to contact Matrix.
All claims for short-term disability after August 31, 2010, should be filed with Matrix, using the phone number and information stated below.
The following Q&A's will help answer basic questions about filing a claim for a disability. If you have any further questions, please contact Matrix at (877) 202-0055 or on line at www.matrixeservices.com.
