Filling and Refilling your Prescriptions:

We can fill most of your prescriptions as long as we have a written, faxed or telephoned order from your provider.  We can also transfer prescriptions from your home pharmacy.

Refills can be requested anytime by phone (603) 646-9456, or email dicks.house.pharmacy@dartmouth.edu and we will have it ready when you arrive during our business hours.  If a prescription has no refills, you may need to schedule an appointment with a provider before obtaining more medication.  Please call the appointment office at (603) 646-9401 for questions.

Transferring your Prescription:

For your convenience, any remaining refills on your prescriptions may be transferred to the Dick Hall's House Pharmacy while you are at Dartmouth.  Please provide the pharmacy with the following information (by phone, email or in person):

  • your name and date of birth
  • your previous pharmacy's name and phone number
  • name of medication and previous pharmacy's prescription number

Please allow 24 hours for the transfer process.

To transfer prescriptions from Dick Hall's House Pharmacy to another pharmacy, please ask your pharmacy of choice to call us at 603/646-9456 and we will be happy to assist with transferring any remaining refills.

Who can use the pharmacy?

The on-campus pharmacy is exclusively for the use of Dartmouth College students, staff, retirees and immediate family members.

Insurance:

We accept most insurances.  Please check your policy so that you are aware of the extent of your coverage and please present a copy of your insurance card at the time of service.

Services:

We stock most prescription medications. If needed, we can special order many drugs with 24 hour notice.

We also have a purposeful selection of non-prescription medications commonly available at local retail pharmacies, with competitive pricing.  We provide supplies and medication for travel, including the "Dartmouth Travel Kit" which is designed to complement your travel prescriptions.

We welcome questions from patients about their medications and routinely provide counseling on all new prescriptions as well as printed materials about medications.

In order to keep your prescription records confidential we operate on a secure private network. We have developed programs to ensure HIPPA compliance. Our Privacy Practices are described in the Notice of Privacy Practices for the Dartmouth College Health Service.

Vending Pharmacy:

A small selection of non-prescription drugs and health supplies (e.g., cold medicines, condoms, thermometers, lip balm) are available from our vending machine located in the "connector" at Dick's House.
