Visiting the Murdough Greenhouses
Room 508 houses a simulated waterfall to water various species of ferns.
The Murdough Experimental Greenhouse and Brout Orchid Collection are located on the fifth floor of The Gilman Life Sciences Center, at the corner of College and Maynard Streets, Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH.
We welcome visitors Monday through Friday from 9 am until 4 pm. There is no admission charge. We are closed weekends and holidays, except by special arrangement. Prior notification via phone (603) 646-2382 or e-mail will help us schedule a visit on these days.
Most areas of our facility are also wheelchair accessible; please call the greenhouse for special parking instructions.
Any one of our staff are happy to schedule informal tours or answer any questions.
- To get to the Dartmouth Murdough Greenhouses:
- From Interstate 91, take exit 13, bear west into Hanover, turn left after the Green, onto College Street
and Maynars Street is the first right. Gilman Building is at the corner of College and Maynard
Streets; the greenhouse facility will be clearly visible on the roof.
- From Interstate 89, take exit 18 onto Route 120, drive North into Hanover. Follow above directions from the Green.

*Parking is available is for visitors in the Maynard St. lot, by prior arrangement with Dartmouth College Parking Operations Office at (603) 646-2204.
