Visiting the Murdough Greenhouses
Room 413 houses a simulated waterfall to water various species of ferns.
The Murdough Experimental Greenhouse and Brout Orchid Collection are located on the 4th floor of the new Class of 1978 Life Sciences Building, at the corner of College Street and Dewey Field Road, Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH.
We welcome visitors Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 4 pm. There is no admission charge. The greenhouse features 2 rooms of orchids from the Brout Collection, a tropical room, a sub-tropical room, and a cactus room. We are closed weekends and holidays, except by special arrangement. Prior notification via phone (603) 646-2382 or e-mail will help us schedule a visit on these days.
The facility is wheelchair accessible; please call the greenhouse for special parking instructions.
Any one of our staff are happy to schedule informal tours or answer any questions.
- From Interstate 91, take exit 13, bear west into Hanover, turn left after the Green, onto College Street
and Dewey Field Road is at the first light. The Class of 1978 Life Sciences Center is at the corner of College Street and Dewey Field Road; the greenhouse facility will be clearly visible on the roof.
Turn left at the light to enter the parking lot.
