The German Studies faculty members actively pursue a wide range of research (see "Faculty"). It is equally devoted to teaching all levels of the Department's courses, from beginning language to advanced seminars and independent study, as well as to directing its academic programs in Berlin. Distinguished guest professors from Germany regularly supplement these offerings. The Department also sponsors German Club activities, residence in the Max Kade German Center, and internships in the German Parliament and in Max Planck Institutes for Neurobiology and Environmental Chemistry. Our students have also had significant success in competing for other kinds of internships and postgraduate fellowships.
