Tessa Tyson, East Wheelock Community Director
Welcome to East Wheelock! My name is Tessa Tyson and while I am originally from the sunny shores of Southern California, and have been slowly making my way eastward. I received my undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona in Family Studies and Human Development in 2005, and I just received my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. I enjoy being in the outdoors for active activities (when weather permits) as well as curling up in my apartment with my scrapbooking supplies, or a good book on a quiet day. I love all things that are related to dancing and the arts. I am really excited to have this opportunity to be involved in the vibrant community that is Dartmouth and the Upper Valley for my second year as the community director of East Wheelock. As a community director, I can act as a resource for general housing questions, roommate conflicts, graduate school options, SIPS programming and faculty engagement opportunities. I directly supervise the East Wheelock Undergraduate Advisors and am in constant communications with other colleagues on campus such as those at the Counseling Office, the Upper and First Year Class Deans, and the OPAL office and would be happy to make a referral. I am also the advisor for the East Wheelock Service Corps and the East Wheelock Cluster Council and can help you get involved in these organizations. Please feel free to stop by my office off of Brace Commons or blitz me with any questions, concerns, or exciting news to share. I look forward to meeting you!
