I am involved in hiring for my team at NERA (www.nera.com) and while we always pursue traditional career office channels, I know it is often more effective to reach people in other ways. My group specializes in derivatives-related litigation (interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, commodity futures manipulation, etc) and also does a fair bit of mutual fund work.

I guarantee that anyone who works here will learn a tremendous amount in a very nice work environment. I know (from personal experience) that some students who think they want to work on Wall Street would actually be a great fit for NERA. We are looking to hire two full time Research Associates for our DC office, starting next summer, and are always looking for summer interns (yes, our New York practice is always hiring as well). I've attached a job description I wrote last summer when we were looking for an intern, and am quite happy to have people contact me directly, whether to formally apply, or just for an informal chat about NERA.
