Welcome to Dartmouth's chemistry department, which combines the personalized instruction and mentoring of a small college with the expertise of a research university. We teach core courses elected by many Dartmouth undergraduates, as well as an array of specialized advanced classes and research seminars. Undergraduate majors enjoy a selection of independent research opportunities. Our students go on to careers in chemistry, medicine, law, business, and more. We welcome prospective undergraduate majors and graduate students (Ph.D. candidates), as well as students just passing through to take classes in chemistry, the central science.
