The African and African American Studies (AAAS) Program at Dartmouth College originated in 1969, making it one of the oldest programs of its kind in the nation. Utilizing innovative avenues of theoretical and empirical investigations, students explore the questions and issues at the center of historical, social, political and cultural dimensions shaping the constructions and transformations of the African diaspora within a global context.
