Admissions Interview - Optional

Dartmouth currently offers applicants the option of an alumni interview. The interview is structured to be informative for you as well as helpful to the Admissions Committee. While we encourage students to try to take advantage of an interview, interviewing is optional. Please do not worry if you are unable to interview - the lack of an interview will not have an adverse impact on your admissions decision. We do not offer transfer applicants the opportunity of an interview.

Alumni Interview:

  • Available only to official applicants to the first-year class.
  • Usually conducted in applicants' local area where he/she attends school.
  • Initiated by the alumni representative.
  • Most, but not all applicants will be contacted due to availability of alumni representatives in an area.
  • Early Decision applicants may be contacted from October through mid-November.
  • Regular Decision applicants may be contacted from December through mid-February.
