Todd J. Zywicki is a Professor of Law and a Senior Research Fellow of the James Buchanan Center, Program on Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at George Mason University School of Law. Professor Zywicki has also taught at Vanderbilt University Law School, Georgetown University Law Center, Boston College Law School, and Mississippi College School of Law, and is a Fellow of the International Centre for Economic Research in Turin, Italy. Prior to becoming a professor, Mr. Zywicki clerked for Judge Jerry E. Smith of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and practiced law with Alston & Bird in Atlanta, Georgia. From 2003 to 2004 he served as the Director of the Office of Policy Planning at the United States Federal Trade Commission. Professor Zywicki is active in numerous civic and constitutional education programs, serving as chair of the Academic Advisory Councils of the Bill of Rights Institute (where he is also a member of the Board of Directors), the McCormick-Tribune Freedom Museum, and the film "We The People in IMAX." Professor Zywicki is the author of more than 70 scholarly articles in leading academic journals and is a frequent commentator in the print and broadcast media. He has also testified numerous times before Congress. He in lives Northern Virginia with his wife and daughter.
