Limited Application Submission Procedures

Limited Submission refers to funding opportunities that are announced by a foundation, corporation, or government agency that limit the number of applicants that can apply from Dartmouth.  Limited Submission opportunities require an internal vetting process through the Provost’s Office and include a deadline for internal review in advance of the sponsor’s posted deadline. Special requirements or processes may be implemented depending on the announcement.

Dartmouth's Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) and Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) routinely distribute notices of Limited Submission opportunities across the campus, with internal and external due dates. See the CFR calendar of upcoming foundation and corporation Limited Submission opportunities; and the OSP calendar, which includes federal government opportunities.

To apply for a Limited Submission, please follow the procedures outlined below:

  • Carefully review deadlines, eligibility, and application requirements.
  • Coordinate with your Chair or Associate Dean. There may be an internal selection process at the school or department.
  • Send the following pre-application materials to limitedfunding@dartmouth.edu* by the posted internal deadline:

1) Overview/abstract of proposal (one page maximum)
2) Total request amount
3) Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Applicants who are selected to apply will be notified usually one week after the internal deadline.

*D-H researchers should email their limited application submissions to awards@hitchcock.org
