Black Greens

by Tai Antoine

The idea of researching prominent African-American alumni of Dartmouth College came about through discussions with her father. Ms. Antoine's interest was piqued and she decided to research, in Rauner Special Collections Library, Edward Mitchell, Class of 1828, the first African-American to attend Dartmouth College. Through her research, Ms. Antoine discovered many interesting and forgotten facts involving African-American alumni who are here displayed.

There is much more information to be sorted through, as this exhibit only spans from 1828-1910. Ms. Antoine invites anyone who wishes to continue her work to contact her.
