Cook Mathematics and Computer Science Collection
The majority of the mathematics and computer science print collection in the Dartmouth College Library is located on Berry Level 3 in the Cook Mathematics and Computer Science Collection. Additional math, computer science and reference titles are shelved in Feldberg Business and Engineering Library, Kresge Physical Sciences Library, and throughout the library system depending on their topic focus.
Journals in the Cook Collection are organized alphabetically, by title. New print issues are mostly in the new journals reading area; bound journal volumes are in the stacks. Books and book series are organized by call number.
The Cook Collection is managed by the librarian for mathematics and computer science whose office is in Kresge Physical Sciences Library in Fairchild Hall. Hours for the Cook Collection are the same as for Baker-Berry Library. Scanning and photocopy services include a scanner near the new journals display, a photocopier on Berry Level 1, and GreenPrint release stations on Berry Level 1 and Carson Lower Level. For resources not in the collection, Dartmouth affiliates can use our Resource Sharing (ILL) service DartDoc, and BorrowDirect, a collection of over 50 million volumes. Borrowing privileges and circulation of items in the Cook collection are the same as for other items in Baker-Berry. Ask any librarian if you need assistance, or feel free to contact the math and computer science librarian with your research questions.
The Wallace Cook Memorial Mathematics Collection was made possible by a gift from John Brown Cook, class of 1929, in memory of his father, Wallace Cook. The collection contains over 30,000 volumes in mathematics and computer science, hundreds of online journals, as well as numerous other related resources.
